Hervey Bay is a coastal seaside town made up of 5 fishing villages which have grown together over time. As such, Hervey Bay has no real centre of town, but is sprawled over about 15kms of protected coastline. When looking for Hervey Bay accommodation, actual location is not of great concern, as there will be no more than a handful of facilities available within walking distance of wherever you end up. It is advantageous to have a car, however many restaurants, the RSL and Boat Club operate a free courtesy bus for visitors.

The Esplanade, Urangan Hervey Bay
Peppers Pier Resort is located at the Urangan end of town, almost opposite Hervey Bay's iconic pier. Positioned on the waterfront, Peppers features stunning views of Hervey Bay's protected beachfront, with Fraser Island visible in the distance from a lot of the higher rooms. Architecturally designed, Peppers offers stunning clean-cut modern beauty at the top end (5 star) of Hervey Bay's resort accommodation spectrum.
Peppers Resort features all the facilities you would expect of a 5 star resort.
The 2 centrally located and beautifully landscaped lagoon swimming pools are the perfect way to cool off after a day of touring Fraser Island or seeing the whales. There are plenty of sun-lounges and the strategically placed shade sails provide enough opportunity to escape the sun in the hot summer months.
A fully equipped gym is available poolside, with fitness instructors available on request (extra charges) if you feel a little guilty after your holiday indulgences!
For those feeling more like pampering, Spa Botanica is located onsite, and offers luxurious spa and beauty treatments. With 6 treatment rooms and a range of treatments available including massage, aromatherapy, Reiki and reflexology, you will leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for another day of sightseeing.
The Bayswater Bar and Bistro is located at the resort and right on the Esplanade, offering a casual Bistro dining experience with fabulous views over the pier, or just a nice place to have a drink at the bar in the evenings. A popular bar with the locals, it is a great spot to unwind and share some experiences of your day on Fraser or with the whales.
Salt Cafe is also located within the Peppers Resort complex, and is a great spot for a casual breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, with a great fresh and eclectic Australian menu.
Accommodation
Peppers Resort offers a variety of luxury accommodation, from one bedroom suites to three bedroom penthouse apartments. All suites feature a separate lounge and dining area, large balcony, and most have views over the Pier and Fraser Island. (Note - the ground floor one bedroom suites do not really have great views, and if staying, request a high floor room on check-in - or email prior to arrival. The ground floor one bedroom suites may also be a little noisy and lack the privacy of higher rooms if the resort is busy.)
To really experience the luxury of this resort, I would recommend the two or three bedroom suites, which are located on upper floors. These rooms feature a master bedroom with King size beds, a spa ensuite, spacious living and dining area, kitchen and laundry, and a huge balcony with great views.
The furnishings are modern and stylish, and the rooms and bathrooms beautifully appointed. All the rooms are very spacious by hotel standards, with plenty of room to spread out if you are staying for more than a few days.
Rates
As you would expect, 5 star luxury comes with a 5 star price-tag, however, there are usually some great "last-minute" special rates that make a stay here quite affordable (see link below).
Rates are seasonal, and peak during whale watch season (August - November), Xmas, and Easter. Rack rates range from $273 / night for a one bedroom suite, to $956 / night for a three bedroom penthouse apartment
