Hervey Bay, where Whales Play and Nature Comes Alive
Up close and personal! You cannot get closer to a whale anywhere else in the world! During whale watching season in Hervey Bay, it is common for the humpback mothers and their new-born calves to spend hours swimming around only metres from the whale watch boats, putting on a display of breaching, lunging and tail slapping! Guests have regularly been "snotted on", as whales blow so close to the boat you can experience that "special" connection that cannot be had anywhere else but Hervey Bay.

3/4 Day Cruises
58 ft Power Catamaran
3/4 Day Cruise including an Awesome Lunch!
This fast 58ft power catamaran was previously owned by documentary producer Ben Cropp, so it has plenty of unobstructed viewing space. Named the "Best Whale Watch Operator" at the 2011 Regional Tourism Awards, Freedom is focussed on providing the best possible whale watching experience coupled with amazing customer service.
Freedom will be the only 3/4 day trip in 2013,and for those that like a relaxed start to the day when on holidays, Freedom's 9:30am departure is perfect! Arriving back at approx 3:30pm you have made the most of the best part of the day and you are back in time for a rest before dinner!
With that extra 2 hours of time on the water, Freedom gives you a little more time with the whales than the half day trips, and is also not compelled to return expeditiously for another afternoon trip if the whales are "going off". Keith has been known to regularly come back a little later than anticipated when he has found an extra inquisitive pod of whales. You certainly get value for money with Freedom. In the early and latter stages of the season when the whales are a little further up the bay, the 3/4 day trip also compensates for the extra time it takes to get to the whales, giving you more action time with the whales.
2013 Season July 27 - October 31
Freedom is a family owned and operated business. As a bonus, Sue and Keith have a restaurant background and experience, so the meals on board are excellent "chef prepared" fare! Morning tea, afternoon tea and an awesome buffet lunch are provided in the ticket price. A licenced bar is also available on board.
With only 45 passengers on board, there is plenty of space for everyone to see whats going on, and lots of comfortable seating inside the saloon. The small passenger numbers on a whale watching trip are definitely an advantage, and with Freedom you always have a front row seat.
Sue and Keith will go out of their way to make your whale watching experience a day to remember. Highly recommended!!
